Kitesurf
A fantastic thermal wind for sailing sports.
One of the benefits of the Maremma Toscana, with its beautiful long coastal beaches and hilly hinterland, is the constant thermal wind that blows on the coast and favors the sports that take advantage of those winds: sailing, wind surfing, and kite surfing.

Kitesurf, which had its origins in 1999 in the Hawaiian Islands, quickly became a distinctive sport on the Maremmane beaches.

On the coast of the Province of Grosseto, Maremma coast, there are several equipped centers, schools and corridors authorized to take lessons, learn and practice this adrenaline sport between water and wind.

Here are the areas where you can find the centers for Kite and Wind Surf lovers:

Between Follonica, Scarlino Point
On the beach you Punta Ala, at the Puntala Camp & Resort
Between Rocchette and Riva del Sole next to Camping Village Maremma Sans Souci.
In the coastal stretch between Castiglione della Pescaia and Marina di Grosseto there are various schools of both Kite surf and wind surfing:
In Castiglione della Pescaia near the Pinetina Sud area, next to Camping Etruria.
Continuing to the south, between Forte delle Marze and Fiumara of Marina di Grosseto, there are various schools with free beach alternating corridors, and some characteristic dining areas with parasols and deckchairs. In this section there is also Bau beach, the beach where access and bathing is also allowed for pets. To get to this coastal stretch you need to park the Canova Town, and cross the pine forest.
From Principina Mare to Talamone, the long stretch of coastline is protected as part of the Maremma Regional Park, until reaching the beach south of Talamone, before Bengodi, where another well-organized sailing center has its prime location .
Talamone has several equipped centers, schools and corridors authorized to take lessons, learn and practice this adrenaline sport between water and wind.
Keep in mind that the above mentioned activities are seasonal, which are active from June to September.
