Italy has a tradition of at least once per week households eat fish. The waters of the coast of the Maremma offer rich fishing grounds and each day the local fisherman land their catches, which are taken off to restaurants and shops in the area and beyond.

However some of the catch can be bought directly at the wharf were the catch is landed it is recommended though that you get their early.

We visited the fisherman one day and you can see the fisherman’s return to port alive with interest as the fish are put ashore.
